    big changes

So here's the deal. On Friday, Feb 10th I am leaving for Djibouti (a small country in Africa near Ethiopia, Somalia and Eritrea). I'll be working in a medical clinic for the Afar people, and in a library/bookshop, which is a mission outreach. My dad is flying there with me, on Air France, and we have a 12 hour layover in Paris so overall it'll probably be two days of travelling, and he is only staying for two weeks, but I'll be flying back the same route by myself six weeks later and arriving in San Francisco on March 27th. Right now I'm taking typhoid fever and malaria pills and those are unpleasant for my stomach. Hopefully the precautions will pay off and I won't get typhoid or malaria or AIDS or get run over by tanks from the French military bases! Seriously though, I'm really scared about flying internationally by myself and pretty much everything else about this, but I guess I should just trust God about things.

While I'm there, I'll have computer access so I'm going to try to send at least one or two email updates. So if any of you want to post your email adress in a comment, I'll add you to my "Yahoo List" and you'll get whatever updates I send.

Other exciting news: I'm coming to school on tuesday, so I'll be around during break. Two days after I get back from Africa I'm going to Taste of Chaos! Also, here are some pictures that Tojo took when we went to SF with Weiwei last saturday.

    Stupid statements...
"I'm not going to have some reporters pawing through our papers. We are the president." --Hillary Clinton commenting on the release of subpoenaed documents

"It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it." --Al Gore, Vice President

"If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure." --Bill Clinton, President

"We are ready for an unforeseen event that may, or may not occur." --Al Gore, VP

"Traditionally, most of Australia's imports come from overseas."--Keppel Enderbery

"Your food stamps will be stopped effective March 1992 because we received notice that you passed away. May God bless you. You may reapply if there is a change in your circumstances."--Department of Social Services, Greenville, South Carolina

lets get emotional girls to all wear mood rings...
We all know the girls that I am talking about
Well they are time bombs and they are ticking
And the only questions when they?ll blow up
And they'll blow up; we know that without a doubt
Cause they?re those girls, yeah you know those girls that let
their emotions get the best of them

And I've contrived some sort of a plan to help my fellow man
Let's get emotional girls to all wear mood rings
So we'll be tipped off to when they're ticked off
Cause we'll know just what they're thinking

She's so pretty but she but doesn't always act that way
Her mood's out swinging on the swing set almost every day
She said to me that she's so happy it's depressing
And all I said was "someone get that girl a mood ring"

If it's drama you want then look no further
They're like the real world meets boy meets world meets days of
    our lives
And it just kills me how they get away with murder
They'll anger you then bat their eyes; those pretty eyes that
    watch you sympathize

And I've contrived some sort of a plan to help my fellow man
Let's get emotional girls to all wear mood rings
So we'll be tipped off to when they're ticked off
Cause we'll know just what they're thinking

She's so pretty but she but doesn't always act that way
Her mood's out swinging on the swing set almost every day
She said to me that she?s so stressed out that it's soothing
And all I said was "someone get that girl a mood ring"

Cause when it's black (it) means watch your back because you're
    probably
The last person in the world right now she wants to see
And when it's blue it means that you should call her up
    immediately
And ask her out because she'll most likely agree
And when it's green it simply means that she is really stressed
And when it's clear it means she?s completely emotionless (and
that's all right I must confess)

We all know the girls that I am talking about
She liked you wednesday but now it's friday and she has to wash
    her hair
And it just figures that we'll never figure them out
First she's jekyll and then she's hyde....at least she makes a
    lovely pair

    Mood ring oh mood ring
Oh tell me will you bring
The key to unlock this mystery
    Of girls and their emotions
Play it back in slow motion
So I may understand the complex infrastructure known as the
    female mind

    Heh...that's terrible

"Temper of Time" by sylvia plath
    An ill wind is stalking
    WHile evil stars whir
    and all the gold apples
    go bad to the core

    Black birds of omen
    now prowl on the bough
    with a hiss of disaster
    Sybil's leaves blow

    Through closets of corpses
    tall skeletons walk
    nightshade and nettles
    tangle the track

    In the ramshackle meadow
    where kilroy would pass
    lurks the sickle-shaped shadow
    of snake in the grass

    Approaching his cottage
    by crooked detour
    he hears the gruff knocking
of the wolf at the door

    His wif and his children
    hang riddled with shot
There's a hex in the cradle
    and death in the pot

    it never got us anywhere

so i guess i'm starting fresh. and God please help me not to screw up anymore...i can't do it on my own.

this is a pretty AWESOME site: check it out    <---right there everybody!!!

WHeeeee how exciting...i can make the words turn colorful!

I felt incredibly singled out today wearing my Pro-Republican T-shirt at Davis High school.

People are so hypocritical. i am Pro-life and anti gay marriage. So you say I should be more tolerant, and not tell people how to live their lives. okay fine. well so should you. you're so accepting of everything EXCEPT me. That's pleasant...

but whatever. Like i'm not guilty of the same thing.

there should be more Victoria Gimpelevich's in this world. yay. or maybe not now that i think about it. Sabrina, you rock too.

    Cheers ~ hannah

insight on the three musketeers...from pc
"i think its *****'s influence of his power over girls that led him to beleive that he is somehow "over" them. ***** sees his brother, who is very arrogant, but leaders respect him. im not suprised at this all with his arrogance, because thats something that is obviously present in both his brothers. ***** went through the same thing, but he finally realized that there were in fact people SMARTER than him, and he finally humbled himself. i think ***** will see that what he is doing is wrong and self centered and eventually be less of a jerk. i hope its soon and i hope he realizes hes missing out on you by being such a jerk and so heartless."

    mehh...someone make me smile.

    cheers <3 hannah
